The HyRES unit is looking for a technologist with competence and knowledge in rapid prototyping of metal and techno polymer and sealing expertise.

The working figure will be responsible for:

• rapid prototyping of components in metal (stainless steel, titanium, nickel, etc.) and techno polymer (PEEK, POM, PAI, etc..) for H2 sector, with external industry or in collaboration with PROM facility
• using in-house CNC machines and 3D printing to realize prototypes according to the engineering team requirements
• verification and gathering materials specification (gasket, and components) for simulation and engineering teams
• proposing techniques and equipment for prototyping and material characterization (electrical conductivity, gas permeability, etc)
• developing and design sealing solution for the H2 technology under investigation in HYRES unit (PEM, AEM, SOE, PCC, compression, storage, etc….) in collaboration with simulations and engineering teams
• purchasing sealing solutions for facility and test activities (O-ring, flat gasket, etc.)
• producing reports, deliverables and technical reviews
• participating in the preparation of the project’s proposal

The ideal candidate should have:

• master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, chemistry, or similar) or Material science, Physics or similar
• know-how in material usable and compatible with H2 in different chemical environments (alkaline, neutral and acid)
• know-how in additive manufacturing techniques
• know-how in the main industry process for components manufacturing (injection Moulding, thermal Moulding, etc.)
• familiarity with mechanical and structural properties of metal and plastic and main
• familiarity with H2 sector (fuel cell, electrolyzer, h2 storage, compression and purification technologies)
• experience in gas and liquid sealing (preferable with high pressure)
• language assessment according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): level of knowledge required. Knowledge of English will be verified during the interview on a technical or scientific topic and must be equal to or exceed level B2. • teamwork approach, good communication and relational skills
